Oversized Knits

Sunday, 22 November 2015

Jumper: Zara | Jeans: Topshop
Location: 202 Westbourne Grove
So, winter weather has hit London at an unforgivable speed and it's time to start pulling out the chunky knits and padded coats (which after three years of British winters, you'd think I'd have by now). Today my dad and I headed to Notting Hill to have a father daughter brunch at 202. Since I'm currently transitioning to veganism, I decided on the yogurt (I haven't given up milk products yet) and fruit granola, which is incredible by the way, and a glass of grapefruit juice.

P.S - Sorry for the severe lack of OOTD posts, but if you follow my Instagram you'd know I'd have some exciting travels coming up that might include the west coast of a certain country!

Until then, ✌✌ xx

London Fashion Week Day 2

Thursday, 24 September 2015

Location: Notting Hill
Shirt: ASOS | Shorts: Levi | Shoes: Adidas | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Quay
Nails: Topshop 'Keep Me Sweet'

After returning over £200 worth of clothes and shoes to ASOS over the past week, either because they didn't fit right or didn't look good on me, I was ecstatic when this highlighter/Barbie pink suede shirt not only fit well but I could see myself wearing it with heaps of different outfits I already had in my wardrobe.
On that note, I have a new shopping rule to live by thanks to Talita von Furstenberg's (DVF's granddaughter) Tatler UK interview; 'If you're trying something on and you can picture it with at least five items from your closet, then you should get it. But if it's like, "I could wear this dress if I got other shoes," then it's wasteful!'

Now back to the outfit; I decided to keep the attention on the shirt, so I paired it with some distressed, vintage Levi's, white sneakers and a cobalt blue mini bag.

Make sure you check out my other LFW posts here & here! Xx

London Fashion Week Day 1

Monday, 21 September 2015

Scarf: ASOS | Dress: Zara | Polo neck: H&M (similar) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Quay
Photography by Giulia Bardelli
For my first day at LFW I was inspired by Olivia Palermo's unique way of tying scarves around her shoulders. This was one look I really wanted to try out last season at NYFW but didn't get the chance to. I found a similar printed scarf from ASOS and borrowed Giulia's dress and polo neck jumper. For shoes I wore Stan Smith's and for accessories I wore a bright red Rebecca Minkoff bag and blue My Girl sunglasses.

Thigh Highs & Western Belts

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

After falling in love with the taupe Stuart Weitzman highlands whilst I was in New York in February (see here), I didn't think I'd ever be able to find an affordable alternative that looked just like them; but whilst browsing ASOS last week, I stumbled across the perfect pair - and for only a fraction of the price.

Red Vespa

Saturday, 5 September 2015

Tee: Bimba y Lola | Shorts: Levi's | Sunglasses: Quay | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

On my last day in Lugano Giulia and I decided to get up early to take some last minute outfit photos before I had to head back to Milan.
As we were walking down to the lake, we spotted a Red Vespa and thought it'd be the perfect spot to take photos! It was hot and humid so I opted for some cut off Levi's shorts, an oatmeal tee and a cobalt blue mini bag.
Which one of my holiday outfits was your favourite?

Lugano

Lago di Lugano

Location: Lugano, Switzerland
Dress: Zara | Shoes: ASOS | Sunglasses: Quay
Location: La Lanchetta Lounge Bar & Pinsa, Lugano
Top: Chicwish | Shorts: Levi's | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: Estée Lauder Restless

After arriving in Lugano much later than expected - my flight was delayed 3 hours - I settled in to Giulia's family home and had a quick bite to eat before Giulia and I went off to do some exploring. It only took a couple of minutes to get from the house to the lake, where we took our shoes off and sat on the steps with our feet in the water.

Lugano is honestly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The mountains on the Italian side of the lake look like something straight out of a Jurassic Park movie and the water was clear and shallow for the first couple of meters, then dramatically plunges down into a dark, aqua-green colour - the deepest point of the lake is 288 meters!

Once back at home and cooled down, we started to get ready to go for dinner. With it being disgustingly humid, make up was not an option; so I put on some red lipstick to make it look like I'd made an effort!

Nautical Stripes & Lace Up Sandals

Thursday, 6 August 2015

Location: Castello Doria, Vernazza, Cinque Terre
Location: Ristorante Al Castello, Vernazza, Cinque Terre
Top: Zara | Shorts: The Fifth Label | Shoes: ASOS

On our last day in Vernazza Giulia and I decided to venture up the many dozens of stairs to Castello Doria, which dates back to the 15th century and was named after the wealthy and influential Doria family, who built the castle to defend the village from pirates. Unfortunately only one tower remains, but the view from the top is well worth it!

For the rest of the day we swam around in the marina and eventually made it back to our apartment to have showers and get ready for dinner. We ended up going to Ristorante Al Castello, which we discovered earlier in the day as we were making our way up to the castle. The views from this restaurant were incredible and the food - I got pesto spaghetti and Giulia got stuffed muscles -  was impeccable.

Hair Flips in Vernazza

Friday, 31 July 2015

Location: Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy
Location: Vulnetia Ristorante, Vernazza, Cinque Terre
Top: Zara | Shorts: Levi's | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Quay Australia | Shoes: ASOS

After travelling for about 5 hours from Lugano to Milan and then from Milan to Vernazza, we finally made it to Cinque Terre (The Five Lands), which is made up of five amazingly picturesque towns - hence the name Cinque Terre - all along the unrefined coast of the Italian Riviera.
After settling into our cute apartment - we had the top floor so we had the best view and our own terrace, we headed down to the marina in hopes of swimming. Unfortunately, it was windy and the waves were rough, but we decided to jump in off a ledge that all the local boys seemed to be jumping off of. Big mistake, because getting out proved to be almost impossible.
After watching the locals jump in wave after wave for a while, we decided it was time to go back to our apartment and get ready to go to dinner. Once dressed, we headed back down to the town centre to have a pizza dinner at Vulnetia Ristorante; which was incredible and I highly recommend you try their pesto pizza (pesto was invented in this area, so obviously it's a MUST to try). We sipped wine, watched the sunset and made friends with the French boys who were sitting next to us.

Vernazza was definitely my favourite of the four towns we visited; there's more locals  - which makes it more authentic, it's got a fab beach, awesome views - not just landscapes wise eitherand incredible food!

Mirrored Lenses and Crisp Whites

Thursday, 30 July 2015

Dress/playsuit: Zara | Shoes: ASOS | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Quay Australia

Despite almost dying, like twice, windy and dangerously big waves (hence the almost dying part) Cinqs, as we've so lovingly become to call it, has got to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Today's post kicks off with one of my favourite outfits I wore whilst in Cinqs with Giulia. We got up super early just to take these photos so A. there wouldn't be copious amounts of tourists - just the locals setting up for the days markets - and B. the lighting was SO quiche.
More outfits and photo diary coming soon!
